The Night Country is a fantasy book following Alice as she tries to discover who is killing ex-stories in modern day New York. The story also follows Finch as he fights his way from the Hinterland to return to Alice. I wanted so bad to like this book. I tried to have an open mind and I fought to finish it but I have to say this book is a let down for me. Honestly, the only part I enjoyed was Finch's views and how he navigated his way back to Alice. I felt the book could have been cut down to the last 78% because that is the point the plot moved forward. The majority of the story followed Alice but I felt her roles in the story never pushed the plot forward. I spent more time asking what was the point of the scene rather than drawing conclusions.
