The Rook by Frost Kay

my rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Frost Kay for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Once again, thank you for ripping my heart out and putting it back in. Frost Kay is an indie writer that I'm completely committed to and this book is another example why. These main characters are fun, spicy, irritating and I love them so much. This is the second book in the series and it left me impatiently waiting for the third release. We see Tempest as she plays the role of a double agent and having no clue how to pull it off. We see the dastardly Fox pining for his Hound. This book is awesome if you need a break and a fun read with all the feels. Please Kay, come out with the third one quickly!

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

my rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was part of my summer romance reading block I accidentally created. I went in with a certain expectation because this book is beloved by the YA readers. However, I got smacked in the face with something completely different. This story follows Eleanor as she survives her mother's abusive marriage. While she suffers through it, she meets Park who is also going through a difficult relationship with his father.  This clearly has abusive themes which directly affect the main characters, so if you are sensitive to those themes I would pass on this. Overall, I liked the story. This book had some great themes with a strong female lead and the fight to do what is best for yourself. I like the relationship between the main characters. By the time I was done with the book, I was completely invested in the characters.  The writing in this book is stellar, it will definitely give you the feels. The plot flowed beautifully and the pacing was perfect.  Original...

Teen Titans: Beast Boy by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo

my rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Huge thanks to DC Comics and Netgalley for this fantastic piece of literary art! I enjoyed this so, so much! I finished it a few days ago and it has been on my mind ever since. This graphic novel is a coming-of-age story featuring Garfield Logan, aka Beast Boy, as comes to understand why he just can't seem to grow any bigger. It's a story of friendship, self discovery, and a super hero coming to life. The art is my favorite part of this graphic novel. It is absolutely gorgeous. The story is well written and relatable for the young and old! I will be continuing the series! Overall, I gave this book 5 stars. I will read this one again and even purchase a hardcopy for myself. If you are a fan of super heroes, READ THIS NOW!
